Hi I am Matthew Hernandez

Introduction

Who are you? It is a simple question that has many diverse answers. You may be completely different than I am or similar depending on our interests, but I still hope we can be great friends by the time this course is over. Know enough with the intro here is a little about me. 22 years ago out in the grotto of St. Matthew's Church, my parents met and two years later I was honored with the name Matthew David Hernandez. I was born and raised in Glendale, Arizona. On January 6 I turned 19; it is amazing how we think of 19 being the last of the teen years, but I see it as a blessing from God to continue new adventures!

My interests

I am interested in ample amounts of things. I am interested in traveling around the states and the world. Just think about this... traveling around the world in places where history was made or traveling in every state and seeing a baseball game; I do not know about you but that sounds great to me! I have been to Chicago, New York, and California. I mostly go to Chicago to see family and it is so beautiful there it is my second home. I am also interested in all sports, but I love baseball because of the smell of the field, popcorn, the uniforms, and I enjoy playing it!

Hobbies

As I mentioned before, I love playing sports like baseball. I have been playing baseball since I was 5. At age 12, I was in club ball with highschool players, but I did not let that intimidate me because I still struck them out!!! Have you ever felt like you need to walk away from stress? Well everyone has stress. I go outside and enjoy nature. Moreover, I go hiking, walking, bike riding, camping, fishing, and anything with enjoying nature I love to partake in. In addition, I practice martial arts that famous martial artists used like Bruce Lee and IP Mans' styles (Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun). Exercise is essential in my life and I enjoy staying healthy because if you have a healthy life then you might just be able to see the creation of flying cars or self-tying shoelaces!

Pet Peeves

I do not have many pet peeves because I try to not get upset about minut stresses. On the other hand, I am not perfect and I do get annoyed by somethings. For example, I dislike when people interrupt me because it is common sense to let the person who was talking finish what they are saying.

Goals

To be successful one needs to have goals. My goals are to pass college with my degrees in business and then go to law school to become a corporate lawyer. With my money as a lawyer, I would give to the poor, help my family and friends, and give money to the churches. I would give money to charity! My main goal is to be close to God and be a blessed man like St. Joseph who was loyal to Blessed Mother Mary and Jesus.

What makes me unique?

Watching baseball as a youngster I would see Randy Johnson pitch. For those of you who do not know who Randy Johnson is he was a left-handed pitcher who threw 102 miles per hour max in the major leagues. I threw right-handed in baseball at age 5, but in football, I threw left-handed. Every day I would throw the baseball at the wall with my right and then switch to my left. At 5 years old I became an ambidextrous pitcher. Now I have a glove that permits me to switch from left to right. You might ask how fast do you throw? I throw in the high 80's. To elaborate, with my right I throw close to 89 mph, but with my left, I throw 87 mph max. There are a couple of ambidextrous pitchers and one main pitcher currently plays in the major leagues his name is Pat Venditte. Switching from left to right gives me the advantage to switch when I see a batter batting on the left or right side. It makes it easier to throw the ball and not hit the batter if it is a lefty on lefty or righty on righty match up.
