Allstate Mayhem Grill Fire


Mayhem is everywhere in life, but with Allstate, we are covered. In Allstate's horrific but hilarious ad, a football enthusiast at a tailgate leaves the grill on in his or her friend's car. This hits home for most Americans, for football and tailgating is a tradition all Americans do to boost their morale before watching one of the most loved sports, football. Thus, the grill (played by Mayhem) does what it does best, which is to efficiently cook food. Well.... the grill cooked this car just a tad bit well done, causing a violent implosion in the parking lot. After witnessing this havoc, the main emphasis Allstate wants you and me to realize is that life is full of accidents, but if we have Allstate there are no accidents to major that they cannot cover. Moreover, the Mayhem commercials target all individuals who are old enough to have insurance, however, they may be amusing to watch, the ad develops a fear tactic within the audience. For instance, if a viewer does not have Allstate insurance, that person will feel compelled to rush over and purchase Allstate insurance.


Allstate's Mayhem ads are continuously highlighting how chaos can arise in such a normal circumstance. In our case, the tailgate grill fire demonstrates to all grill users and sports fans that a fun gathering can lead to an expensive nightmare with just a simple mistake of leaving the grill on. Additionally, Allstate wants all viewers to comprehend the importance it is to have insurance for unexpected times like the grill fire, but most importantly to buy Allstate insurance. Hence, if one realizes how much damage just one grill did, they will say "that is going to cost a pretty penny"! Indeed, it is going to cost a pretty penny, so to see that Allstate can cover such a terrifying mess is a smooth way to persuade the viewers.

    I have enjoyed the "Mayhem" Allstate commercials. They are hilarious and they bring comedy to a real world. What is funny about that? Second, humor commercials are more memorable than just a traditional insurance commercial.
