Blog Entry #6 Let's hop on to Easter!

Easter! It is full of pure happiness and love as spring brings forth new life! Indeed, life is renewed, for devoted Catholics and Christians as they celebrate Jesus Christ rising from the dead to free all humanity from sin. Furthermore, Catholics celebrate by going to mass (church services) to receive Jesus in the Holy gifts of communion, such as the bread and wine; which are the blood and body of Jesus Christ. Communion was first started when Jesus broke bread and wine with his disciples at the last supper before his crucifixion; it is a reminder that Jesus is always with us and we are renewed by his love.

Can you guess the the most common way to celebrate Easter? You probably guessed it! Yep, it is what every boiled egg lover looks forward to on Easter, the egg hunt! In addition, hunting for eggs has been around for many centuries it originated in Medieval Europe. In modern times, many people have gatherings that consist of grilling, eating out or at home, but there is always the Easter egg hunt mostly for the youngsters, but who is to judge? Older folks can join in on the festivity too!

   Easter Rabbits

Before the Easter egg hunt, there needs to be preparation involved. Preparation starts with getting warm water in a coffee cup, vinegar, food coloring, and now you are ready to color eggs! Next, one must dip the eggs in the warm colored water for a few seconds and then let the eggs dry. Finally, go hide those colored eggs in various places at home or wherever one is having the egg hunt.

Have you ever thought of why do we think of the Easter bunny having eggs? Rabbits do not lay eggs it is a fact everyone knows, however, Easter puts that fact aside. Eggs are a sign of new life just as spring is know to bring. Hence, the rabbit is bearer in the new life "laying" the eggs.
